Our Mission

We believe all human beings are worshiping creatures. It’s impossible not to worship something, whether a person is religious or secular. As pastor Tim Keller puts it: “every human personality, community, thought-form, and culture will be based on some ultimate concern or some ultimate allegiance—either to God or to some God-substitute. Individually, we will ultimately look either to God or to success, romance, family, status, popularity, beauty or something else to make us feel personally significant and secure, and to guide our choices.”

Our church’s mission is to help people worship GOD in all of life. We are striving to help people turn away from their heart-idols and put God at the center of everything they do. (Jeremiah 2:11-13; Romans 1:21-23; Romans 12:1-2; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Exodus 20:3-5)

Our Values

Our values represent our shared convictions that guide our decision making and help shape the culture of our church. There are many things we value but here are four that we believe are primary and make our church family unique:

HUMILITY

Being humble doesn’t mean we think less of ourselves, rather it means we strive to think of ourselves less. When we are confronted with the good news that Jesus, who was God in the flesh, set aside his glory to serve us, we are freed from our self-centered obsessions and petty agendas. We desire to take ourselves less seriously, to let go of needing other people’s approval, and to be quick to admit our own failings. We want Jesus to be front and center of everything we do! (Philippians 2:1-11; Luke 18:9-14; 1 Corinthians 1:26-31; Ephesians 5:21)

RELATIONSHIPS

Relationships are hard work and risky. They require time, sacrifice, and exposing yourself to betrayal and rejection. But real relationships are worth it and we want to be a church family that consists of people willing to do the hard work of developing meaningful relationships. These relationships will require getting to know people of different ethnicities and ages. We want to provide as many opportunities as possible for young and old to interact and learn from one another. As we grow in these relationships we’ll be reflecting the heart of God, who exists eternally, in relationship as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:42-47; Ephesians 4:3-6; Romans 12:9-13; 1 Peter 2:9-10)

CELEBRATION

We believe God is alive and working in and through us. Sometimes God does this through trials and suffering while other times he overwhelms us with obvious signs of his power and grace. Through it all, whether in good times or bad, we are called to celebrate God’s faithfulness, goodness, and provision. Though not easy at times, we strive to be a community that shares stories of God’s work in our lives for our mutual encouragement and edification. (Psalm 33; Romans 15:13; Philippians 4:4-7; Acts 2:46, 5:41-42)

MISSIONAL

The story of the Bible is the story of God’s rescue mission. God loves his world and he has called us to reflect his love as his people. Our church exists just as much for the people outside our walls as those inside our church family. Therefore, we want to give of our resources, generously, for the good of our city and the nations, so that God would be glorified. (Matthew 28:18-20; John 20:19-22; Acts 1:7-8; Isaiah 49:6; Psalm 67)
